Am 9. Feb 2008, in seiner Sonntags Show Alo Presidente, droht Chavez , dass Öl nicht mehr in die US geliefert wird. Das war seine Reaktion auf das Gerichtsurteil in UK Bankkonten von PdVSA einzufrieren bis ein Ausgleich im Fall Exxon erreicht ist.

Am 16 Februar 2008, nur eine Woche später, in seiner Sonntags Show Alo Presidente, teil Chavez mit, das es keinen Plan gibt Öllieferungen in die US zu stoppen - das würde nur passieren im Fall eines Krieges zwischen den beiden Ländern
